The 90s legend, now 49 years old, will contest a 10-round title fight in Florida against a man young enough to be his son. His hometown bout against Scott Sigmun, an earnest trier but not one to worry the world rankings, is being marketed, obliquely, as Jones' final fight. In an online video, Jones refers to the bout as "my last day in Pensacola … that's my last one there". But that doesn't make it any easier to watch Jones fight into his athletic dotage, especially as he has been violently knocked out on several occasions. The sooner Jones hangs up his gloves and lets the memories of the past decade fade, the better, so that we can remember him instead for his glorious prime.
